1 # Chaumian eCash 2 3 **Source:** [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecash/](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecash/) 4 5 **Definition:** Chaumian eCash (or just eCash), 6 7 ## Details 8 9 Chaumian eCash was introduced in the paper, "Blind Signatures for Untraceable Payments" by David Chaum in 1982. 10 11 eCash was introduced as a payment system to provide a degree of privacy for payees while mitigating some negative externalities associated with privacy, like the lack of provable payments.
